CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa—At a press conference held yesterday before a campaign speech here by Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump, Katrina Pierson, national spokesperson for Mr. Trump’s campaign, slammed Hillary Clinton for statements made at the Democratic presidential debate, televised on ABC, on Saturday night that Mr. Trump anti-immigration rhetoric about Muslims was being used by the ISIS terrorist group to recruit jihadists.
“It’s just another Hillary lie,” Ms. Pierson said “It’s nonsense. She lies like crazy about everything. Her entire campaign is just one big lie after another and another and another. She’s being lying like that since she was Secretary of State. It’s quite the opposite. Mr. Trump is sending a strong message to ISIS and their Muslim supporters worldwide that they should fear, deeply fear a president Trump.”
In response to a question from debate moderator and ABC World News Tonight host David Muir, Ms. Clinton said that Mr. Trump is “becoming ISIS’ best recruiter.”
“Mr. Trump has a great capacity to use bluster and bigotry to inflame people,” the Democratic front-runner said. “They are going to people showing videos of Donald Trump insulting Islam and Muslims in order to recruit more radical jihadists. And we also need to make sure that the really discriminatory messages that Trump is sending around the world don’t fall on receptive ears.”
Ms. Pierson, a veteran Texas Tea Party activist and former congressional candidate, told reporters that Ms. Clinton was “palling around with Muslim terrorists.”
“There’s nothing bigoted at all and no discrimination involved with preventing Muslim terrorists from entering America,” the Tea Party firebrand said. “We know she’s just trying to appease a Democrat special interest group. Hillary is someone who sees America as imperfect enough to go palling around with terrorists who would target their own country.”

Ms. Pierson added that Mr. Trump’s vision of America is different than Ms. Clinton and the other Democratic presidential candidates.
“This is not a woman who sees America as you and I see America. We see America as a force for good in this world. And we see an America of exceptionalism. And that exceptionalism will be slowly destroyed from within if we don’t stop Muslim terrorists from coming into this country.
She also told reporters that a president Trump would not try to appease Muslims by visiting mosques and making “imaginary proclamations,” referring to visits made to mosques by Presidents Obama and Bush.
“You will not see a president Trump stooping down on tattered rugs in mosques saying Islam is a religion of peace. Or saying that anywhere else in the world for that matter. If they really wanted to be American, then ISIS wouldn’t be able to recruit them in the first place.”
